Bright Learners event to raise funds for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN announced that Bright Learners Academy pre kindergarten program joined hands with the hospital to conduct the "Bring A Bike Day" Trike -A-Thon.  This unique one week event was scheduled to begin on 11/01/10.  The actual Trike A Thon is scheduled for 11/05/10 at 3:00 PM.  the event  took place at 12155 Shadow Creek parkway, Bright Learners Academy campus.  The event promoted bicycle safety while raising money for cancer research.

'St. Jude is the leader in the fight against catastrophic childhood diseases such as Leukemia, brain tumors and sickle cell disease", said Claudia Shephard, coordinator of the event.  Through events like this Trike-A-Thon, pearland will be supporting the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving children across the country and around the world.

This was Bright learners second year conducting the Trike a Thon and the students raised over $4,000.00 for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.

Lack of training is the most frequent contributing cause of bicycle accidents.  The Trike-A-Thon teaches riding safety tips using coloring sheets, stories, and riding activities.  Parents support the program by collecting tax deductible donations to sponsor their child.

St. Jude Children's Research hospital in Memphis Tennessee was founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas.  Families without insurance are never asked to pay.
